Thinfilm Receives Engineering Orders for Prototypes

Thin Film Electronics ASA ("Thinfilm") today announced that they had received
and accepted two engineering orders from leading toy manufacturers. Delivery of
the prototypes is scheduled for Q2 2011.
"Cost-sensitive consumer applications are the right proving ground for Printed
Electronics. Thinfilm is meeting this challenge by delivering prototyping design
services to toy manufacturers and engineering quantities of memory labels and
memory-enhanced cards," says Davor Sutija, Thinfilm CEO.
Thinfilm has seen significant interest from the toys and games market, and is
also experiencing growing interest from other industries.
"This traction, including design of specific toy prototypes, accelerated with
the launches of the Thinfilm Memory Controller and the OBA game," Sutija
continues. TheOBA demo game was launched in February and the Thinfilm Memory
Controller(TM) in November 2010.
Thinfilm's current product offering is Thinfilm Memory(TM), 20-bit non-volatile
rewriteable printed memory, and the Thinfilm Memory Controller, an application-
specific integrated circuit (ASIC).
The Memory Controller makes it possible to design smaller, more cost effective
reader/writer units, and coupled with theToy Development Kit launched in
December 2010, enables rapid prototyping of interactive toys and games.
In the OBA reference game the OBA inhabitants evolve and mature their
capabilities and powers through acquiring eggs on each game level. Cards with

well suited for application with other printed electronics devices because power
consumption during read and write is negligible, and as the memory is permanent,
no connection to external power is required for data detainment. Also, the
electric current required to write information is so small that operation would
be limited by the battery's lifetime and not its capacity.
