Ageas expects judgments today in FortisEffect and VEB/Deminor cases

(Thomson Reuters ONE) -

The Amsterdam District Court has announced that this morning it will provide its
initial judgments in respect of two cases questioning the role of Fortis in the
sale of certain Fortis' assets to the Dutch State in October 2008.

In each of these cases various Fortis' shareholders claim that Fortis, and/or
the Dutch State, have not complied fully with all legal rules applicable to such
a sale. Ageas will analyse these judgments and will decide how best to defend
the interests of its shareholders. This does not preclude filing an appeal in
both cases should this be deemed necessary. Ageas will promptly inform the
public of the outcome of these cases and its proposed course of action.
