Veidekke to build more flats at Rodeløkka

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has been awarded the contract from Veidekke Eiendom AS
to build stage 2 of the Konfektfabrikken housing project at Rodeløkka in Oslo.
The contract comprises building 50 new flats with a total sales value of more
than NOK 150 million excluding VAT.
Freia operated a chocolate factory at the site from 1889, but production was
moved to the neighbouring property a few years ago. In December Veidekke started
building the first stage of the housing project consisting of 84 flats with a
total sales value of NOK 260 million.
In April 2011 the sale of the 50 flats in stage two started. These were also
very well-received in the market, and the decision to build was made after only
a week of advance sales.
As of 31 May 2011, 112 of a total of 134 flats in stages 1 and 2 have been sold
with a total sales value of NOK 333 million. "Building of stage two has just
commenced, and the flats are to be ready in December 2012," says project
developer Tor Nordstrøm of Veidekke Eiendom.
Four building stages are planned with a total of 253 flats, with an estimated
sales value of more than NOK 900 million. In order to ensure rational and
continuous production, the next stage is already planned.
Stage 3 is expected to be put on the market in the autumn of 2011, followed by
stage 4 in the spring of 2012. "The project's reception in the market has been
singularly positive, and we have great faith that this will also apply to the
next building stages," Nordstrøm concludes.
Veidekke is cooperating with the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association on
building homes with a particularly good and healthy indoor climate. Through
conscious choices and well thought out solutions and materials, Veidekke is
creating healthy homes.
