Applied Materials Announces Cash Dividend

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 7, 2011 - Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAT) today
announced that its Board of Directors has approved a quarterly cash dividend of
$0.08 per share payable on the company's common stock.  The dividend is payable
on September 21, 2011 to stockholders of record as of August 31, 2011.
