Onninen signs agreement with EDB ErgoGroup

(Oslo, 27 June 2011) Onninen Norge AS has entered into an agreement with EDB
ErgoGroup for IT operating services through to 2015. The agreement represents
total contract value of around NOK 54 million over its life.
Onninen and EDB ErgoGroup have collaborated closely on IT since 2004. Through
the new agreement, Onninen has renewed this collaboration through to 2015. The
agreement provides for EDB ErgoGroup to be responsible for the operation of
Onninen's ERP system and a number of other business-critical applications.
Onninen is the leading Scandinavian supplier of electrical and plumbing products
and services to the construction sector, industrial customers and public bodies.
The company also supplies technical products to the retail trade. Sales based on
electronic orders and electronic order processing make up a large part of
Onninen's revenue. Access to reliable and secure IT systems is therefore of
great importance for the day-to-day management of Onninen's sales and
deliveries.
Virtualised and globalised
In addition to Onninen's OnWay ERP system, EDB ErgoGroup will be responsible for
operating a number of related systems such as Data Warehouse, Oracle Financial
Analyzer, Planning (eBS), Oracle Interconnect, Archiving, Streamserve, EDI, and
the database Onninen uses for its Astro inventory management solution.
EDB ErgoGroup will have overall responsibility for Onninen's entire applications
portfolio. This is a large and comprehensive portfolio, and one feature of the
new contract is that EDB ErgoGroup will now virtualise a number of Onninen's
application servers. Onninen uses EDB ErgoGroup's Global Sourcing offer for the
operation of its OnWay ERP-system. 50% of the resources used for the operation
and support of this system are based in EDB ErgoGroup's business in the
Ukraine.
