BIMobject AB: BIMobject adds 3D-printing and VR formats to its content creation solution

(Thomson Reuters ONE) -

BIMobject AB ("BIMobject") today announces that the 3D-printing format STL and
the Virtual Reality-format FBX have been made available for BIMscript(®) & LENA,
a solution for creating digital building products. As of today, products created
in BIMscript(®) & LENA will automatically be available in these file formats,
adding value and possibilities for manufacturers, developers, and designers.

The BIMobject(®) content creation solution BIMscript(®) & LENA is enhanced with
two additional output file formats: the STL format optimised for 3D-printing,
and the Virtual Reality format FBX. The two new file formats are generated
automatically in the content development process, creating direct links to be
used for 3D-printing and Virtual as well as Augmented Reality solutions.
Existing content can be updated to include the formats.

The stereolithographic STL format is the basis for all 3D-printers and is
integrated into BIMscript(®) & LENA as an additional file format. This means
that scale models and prototypes of parametric BIM objects can be printed more
easily from a single source, without any file conversion. This will in turn
improve the workflow for designers, who use 3D-printers to create physical
models for presentations to building owners and building developers.

"Our unique development solution has taken a huge step forward: The new file
formats add value to the process without meaning extra work for content
developers. For manufacturers, offering a downloadable scale model of the
building or interior product for 3D-printing is a great way to support designers
and engineers in their work",  says Ben O'Donnell, Chief Technology Officer at
BIMobject.

FBX is an adaptable file format that was originally developed for 3D-animation
software. Integrated into BIMscript(®) & LENA, it allows users to access the

created BIM objects directly from within a VR application such as BIMobject(®)
VR and BIMobject(®) AR. The format thus offers manufacturers easier integration
of their products into any VR solution, saving time and money, as well as
maintaining an unbroken flow for all content creation. The content is made
available to more designers for more types of possible use in the design,
visualisation, user engagement, and sales processes.

"We already know that VR and AR are the next big thing, but the technology needs
reliable product information and geometry. FBX turns it into a standard part of
the process that can then easily be explored by solutions for real-time
visualisation, online configurators, and walk-throughs in 3D. I think we'll see
a surge in the number of BIMscript developers and manufacturers using the
technology", says Ben O'Donnell.

BIMscript(®) & LENA consists of the scripting language BIMscript(®) and the
plugin LENA, which let 3(rd)-party content developers and manufacturers create
their own digital building products by importing native, mechanical CAD geometry
and optimising it for BIM objects. Developers can generate parametric, native
BIM objects in a number of popular formats for industry-leading BIM
applications. These BIM objects are then hosted on the platform BIMobject(®)
Cloud, which serves as a Single Source of Truth for its more than 500,000
professional registered users and over 1,000 represented brands.

Herring 100 award, and a public company on Nasdaq Stockholm First North: ticker
BIM. BIMobject(®) is a game changer for the construction industry worldwide with
its cloud based digital content management system for BIM objects.

BIMobject as a disruptive technology corporation is at the forefront of the
digitalisation of building products and materials, enabling the information to
be turned into know-how earlier in the BIM process. The BIMobject(®) Cloud is a
digital platform where BIM professionals can find and download BIM files from
brands, from both Europe and US. This will enable industrialisation of the
construction industry and also have a huge impact on design, product selection,
constructability, waste, energy, cost, quality, and logistics.

Our unique solutions for building product manufacturers provide development,
hosting, maintenance, syndication, and publication of the digital replicas of
the manufacturers' products - BIM objects. The marketing and pre-sales services
associated with the BIMobject(®) Cloud are channelled and integrated, through
Apps, into CAD/BIM applications to create a business-to-business communication
across the globe.

Manufacturers use BIMobject(®) to promote and deliver their products directly
into BIM processes, enabling their products to be selected and generate a real
