Construction of Wärtsilä's new central distribution centre officially
begins in the Netherlands

(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Wärtsilä Corporation, Press release, 9 September 2009With the drilling of 1000 pillars, Wärtsilä has officially begunconstruction of its Central Distribution Centre (CDC), located inKampen, Netherlands. The realisation of this centre is one of themilestones towards establishing a new global parts and logisticsorganisation, Wärtsilä Global Logistics Services (WGLS). This newunit will enable Wärtsilä to supply parts world-wide, 24 hours perday, 7 days per week. This 24/7 service strategy will improve bothdelivery time and performance for the customers.The new facility will allow Wärtsilä to centralise its spare partslogistics from eight existing, product-line specific spare partswarehouses, to a single central distribution centre. This centre willbe fully operational by the end of 2011 and will deliver spare partsto customers and Wärtsilä service locations around the globe. Byusing one global logistic centre, and through the creation of ahighly efficient logistics flow, Wärtsilä will be better positionedto serve both customers and suppliers, as well as its own serviceorganisation. Wärtsilä' global service network continues to serve thecustomers in all services and repairs. Wärtsilä has service units in160 locations in 70 countries."By building this Central Distribution Centre, Wärtsilä is optimisingits 24/7 service approach all over the world.
