Telefónica's fixed network within the following areas in São Paulo city: Campo
Limpo, Campo Belo, Jabaquara, Consolação and Ipiranga. The managed services will
be provided in a multi-vendor environment.

Sergio Quiroga, Head of Ericsson in Latin America and Caribeean, says:
"Broadening our managed services partnership further with Telefónica is an
important step to Ericsson. This contract also contributes to Ericsson's
leadership in managed services in Latin America and globally."

Telefónica Brazil has already been working with Ericsson's methods and tools for

into an agreement for field maintenance of the operator's fiber network in São
Paulo state.

Ericsson has the telecom industry's most comprehensive managed services
offering. It ranges from designing, building, operating and managing day-to-day
operations of a customer's network, including end-user services and business-
support systems, to hosting service-layer solutions and providing network
coverage and capacity on demand. With all current contracts, Ericsson has more

than 45,000 service professionals and manages networks that serve over 800
million subscribers worldwide.
