There is also the Valle Gran Rey Rural Park, which showcases the island’s diversity in nature. I would also recommend taking a boat ride from the park that ferries you to Los Órganos National Monument. This magnificent natural phenomenon is a gigantic sculpture of basalt rock, 200m wide and 80m high, which has been carved by tide and time. If you are looking to stay in the midst of nature on La Gomera, holidays are best spent at the Jardin Tecina in my expert opinion. It offers some delightful accommodation with beautiful Edenic surroundings.
Epic Viewpoints
Head to the Palmarejo Viewpoint for a breathtaking view of the Valle Gran Rey, where you can see it in all of its glory. Whilst you are there, you can also check out the work of acclaimed architect César Manrique. If you can’t get enough of the views, make sure to visit the Los Roques Natural Monument. The monument symbolises La Gomera’s ancient origins, with five volcanic monoliths rising from a bed of laurel forests. The road from San Sebastian offers several designated viewpoints from which you’ll get to see striking panoramas. If you still want to see more of the island from above, stay at the Parador Conde De La Gomera, which is situated high on the cliffs of San Sebastian.
La Gomera holidays are ideal for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the Canary Islands, without having to deal with crowds. There is so much natural beauty to explore, whether through the several national parks housed on the island or by the amazing panoramas on offer.
