Logistics Specialist Simon Hegele Migrates to the MobileIron Platform
(PresseBox) - MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the secure foundation for modern work, today announced that logistics service provider Simon Hegele has completed its migration to the MobileIron platform to offer its logistics solution packages in the area of mobility Future-proof mobile IT.
The traditional company Simon Hegele, based in Karlsruhe, Germany, sees itself as a 360° solution provider that analyzes process chains and customer requirements along a complex logistics chain and develops individual solutions on this basis. To implement its business strategies, mobile devices have been important tools at Simon Hegele for years. "Originally we were focused on BlackBerry, but since the beginning of 2016 we are migrating to the MobileIron platform," says Christian Jösch, network administrator at Simon Hegele.
Currently, the global logistics service provider relies exclusively on Android devices man aged by the MobileIron platform. Applications include mail, contacts and calendars as well as time recording and document access to the network drives, including the use of an internally-developed app.
In addition to the smartphones, Samsung's Android tablets are used in field service. At present, the logistics specialist uses only company-owned Samsung tablets with Android Enterprise. All devices are encrypted and authenticated with different single sign-on (SSO) technologies.
When introducing the MobileIron platform and its maintenance, Simon Hegele is supported by the mobility specialist anyplace-IT. Rainer Röckle , Managing Director of anyplace IT, goes into the details of the challenges: "On the one hand, we had to find a suitable solution for the requirements of the specialist departments and, on the other hand, provide the necessary apps via MobileIron so that the data could be further processed in the backend. Depending on the department, very different configurations had to be provided because the requirements differed greatly. The final solution was then implemented within days."
