Océ leads consortium of 23 hightech companies in industrial printing

During awhistle-stop tour, Van derHoeven was updated on company strategy and the partnership withrelevant industry playersand knowledge institutes focused on the hightech sector. The Ministrysubsidizes a number ofthese strategic development projects.100 million euro for the hightech sectorSome 40 companies in the hightech sector, including 22 medium-sizedto small companiesand 11 knowledge institutes, have been granted a subsidy of 100million euro within the HighTech Top Project Allocation for five strategic activities related toresearch and development(R&D). Announced on Wednesday of last week, these projects enablecompanies to retaintheir innovative culture and knowledgeable talent. The projects focuson research in areaswhere The Netherlands already holds a distinctive internationalposition. Océ will receive a total amount of 14million euro for theknowledge specialists arrangement and the High Tech Top ProjectAllocation.PrintValley brings 23 companies togetherOcé has taken the initiative to bring together a consortium of 23knowledge institutes,universities, medium-sized and small companies as well asmultinationals to work onadvanced digital printing applications. Océ will reinforce thedevelopment of of new printingplatforms based on advanced inkjet technology within these joint R&Dprojects. Companiescooperating in PrintValley are developing and evaluating the printingof monitors, solar cells,packaging and security tags. Approximately 180 researchers areworking within PrintValley,including 80 Océ staff. A subsidy of over 18 million euro has beenallocated to the PrintValleyconsortium."A step in the right direction""The arrangement for knowledge specialists and the subsidy for thehightech sector is ahealthy step in the right direction," said Rokus van Iperen, chairmanof the Board of ExecutiveDirectors of Océ.
