WDL aviation expands its fleet by 2019

Fleet increase by Embraer

(PresseBox) - ?German ACMI specialist WDL has selected the Embraer 190 to replace its fleet of BAE146 aircraft and is soliciting offers on pre-owned aircraft for delivery in early 2019. However, CEO of parent company Zeitfracht, Wolfram Simon, stressed that prices need to be affordable. ?So far we see a lot of availability coming to the market later this year through 2020, but with prices and lease rates have yet to reflect this reality. We are ready to buy but the price has to be right - our customers are used to the excellent economics of the 146 and we need to align the 190 with that benchmark?.

The WDL aviation was founded in 1974 and is based at the airport Cologne / Bonn. The founder, Theodor Wüllenkemper, took over the operation of working and training flights in 1955 - immediately after Lufthansa and before the LTU.

The Zeitfracht Group is an owner-managed family business in the third generation with about 1,000 employees and headquarters in Berlin.

The company operates primarily in the three business segments logistics, aviation and real estate and generates an annual turnover of more than 220 million euros.
