Growth expectations for the wood processing machinery sector slightly higher than for machinery industry until 2020 - Quest industry report
The growth expectations of the machine builders of wood processing machines are based on a difficult economic situation
(PresseBox) - The Quest industry report compares the growth expectations of the woodworking machinery sector with those of the mechanical engineering industry. The data on this comes from a market survey by Quest TechnoMarketing, which examined the use of servo drives on the machines until 2020.
The growth expectations up to 2020 in the German machinery industry in terms of machine production are 5.5% per year. Machine-builders in the wood processing machinery sector are slightly more optimistic with growth expectations of 6.0% per annum.
The extent of the growth shows clear differences between wood processing machines and machinery industry.
Almost every second machine-builder expects machine production to stagnate by 2020 (44%), while only every tenth manufacturer of wood processing machines expects this to happen in the case of wood processing machines.
90% of the machine-builders of wood processing machines expect growth of up to 5% per year and of over 5% to 10% per year, respectively. In the machinery industry only a good third of machine-builders (38%) have such expectations.
None of the manufacturers of wood processing machines expect a decline in production by 2020. In the machinery industry this affects 1% of machine builders.
