The SME Association says that if every small business in Australia grew by 5 per cent, 356,000 new jobs would be created.
SME Association of Australia launches "BuySmall.Business" Program for Small Business and will have substantial campaign that will feature on 1,430 screens nationally in cafes, lifts, airports, bus stops and via Google.
(firmenpresse) - The SME Association of Australia is launching the BuySmall.Business campaign this week, challenging Australians to make a difference to the economy by supporting small and medium businesses.
The SMEAA - a non-profit organisation that advocates for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) - says that if every small business in Australia grew by 5 per cent, 356,000 new jobs would be created.
Only small business knows what it is to be local. That's the benefit of shopping small. When you buy from a small business, you're not only buying from a member of the local community, you're buying into the local community.
The SMEAA is boosting SME visibility with a distinctive label that asks Australians to BuySmall.Business. The substantial campaign will feature on 1,430 screens nationally in cafes, lifts, airports, bus stops and via Google.

New Chairman of the SMEAA, Mark Bouris, says there are 1.8 million business owners in Australia, who predominantly operate locally, and patronising these businesses supports communities and the economy.
Every consumer has a choice about where they purchase for their household or their business, says Mr Bouris. When you buy from small business youre creating jobs in the community. Its a small choice with big results.
Mr Bouris says he took-on the Chairmanship of the SMEAA because the SME sector is crucial to the Australian economy. It employs up to 70 per force of the workforce yet it is overlooked by government policy and burdened by regulation.
Government can play its part and look at taxes and red tape, says Mr Bouris. But there are two things that will make SMEs stronger: they must stick together and address common issues; and they need the support of the Australian community. Over the coming months, well be addressing small business issues with state and federal governments, but were also asking Australians to supports SMEs, grow the economy and create jobs.
