Operators of the Laerdal Tunnel in Norway rely on Lantech PoE Switches
The focus is on reliability
(PresseBox) - Lærdal Tunnel is a 24.51 km (15.23 mi) long road tunnel of European route E16 and located approximately 175~200 km (109?124 mi) north-east of Bergen, the second-largest city in Norway.
The E16 is the main road between Norway's two largest cities Oslo and Bergen, which makes Lærdal Tunnel one of the most important in Norway. It was opened in 2000 and it is still the longest road tunnel in the world currently.
For this project, 150 pieces of the Lantech IPES-3408GSFP (Industrial PoE Managed) switches were used to power the VoIP phones, cameras and signs via PoE. Safety was a top priority for this project.
With the help of the ITU.G8032 ring, Lantech Switches have built a completely redundant network to ensure fast and reliable data transmission for such a large project.
