(PresseBox) - At the international furniture fair imm cologne, TÜV Rheinland will be providing information on trends relating to safety, quality and sustainability in furniture. The experts from TÜV Rheinland will be offering talks and presentations on numerous current topics at Stand 006 in the ?Boulevard Center? hall. Kitchen appliances and equipment are one of the main areas of focus. TÜV Rheinland also explains how furniture can be certified for important export markets and how standards for children's seating and mattresses are changing.

Comprehensive testing programs for electrified furniture

TÜV Rheinland is exhibiting in the ?Living Kitchen? area, the international kitchen event at the imm cologne. TÜV Rheinland will be presenting the entire range of its services for the furniture industry. An important topic at the stand of the international testing service provider is electrified furniture, which is an essential component of kitchen furnishings. Electrified means that lighting, for example, is permanently integrated into a piece of furniture. ?Electrified furniture must be tested particularly extensively. Electrical safety is an important aspect,? explains Kai-Uwe Schlegel, furniture expert at TÜV Rheinland.

Discuss new standards with experts

TÜV Rheinland?s experts test furniture in numerous laboratories worldwide for a wide range of quality and safety aspects. In addition to electrical and functional safety, these include electromagnetic compatibility and testing for potentially harmful substances in the products.

TÜV Rheinland offers expert discussions continuously at its stand. Another topic is how manufacturers can have their furniture certified for important export markets. In addition, changes are currently being made to standards for children's seating furniture and childrens' mattresses. The revised standards are currently available in draft form. ?Manufacturers should take future requirements into account now. We will inform you about the details,? says Kai-Uwe Schlegel. Another expert discussion deals with chemical substances in furniture.
