King Jaume III: A Statue
This is quite a sight. Showing both King Jaume III and the future King, Jaume IV, the iconic bronze feature will take your breath away. The future King holds the flag of the Kingdom of Mallorca and also the body of his father in what is an evocative image.
This statue will tell the story of the Battle of Llucmajor, which took place in 1349. This saw Aragon’s Pedro IV defeat the King, which would have a profound impact on the history of this Mallorca resort for years to come.
Llucmajor Town Hall
Another great point of interest in this Mallorca resort is the Town Hall, which boasts attractive architecture originating back in 1884. Be sure to spot the carved portal, as well as the cladding, which is made of marble. The exterior is lovingly decorated with the city’s shield.
Sant Miquel
Isidro González Velázquez’s remarkable architectural work can be observed at the Parish Church of Sant Miquel. The church, built originally in the Gothic style has impressive Baroque additions and a remarkable clock tower that is often the highlight of the trip for many of its visitors.
King Jaume III’s original resting site was here at Sant Miquel, and remained there until he was moved over to Palma Cathedral.
