The terminology alone illustrates the differences between Functional Safety and Cyber Security. Functional Safety assumes that the technical system is potentially harmful and addresses the reduction of the risk that the system poses to humans. Roughly speaking, Functional Safety therefore addresses the effect of the system on human. Cyber security contrasts the effect of humans on the system.
