(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/24/11 -- Experience the power of thousands united by autism at the 7th annual San Diego Walk Now for Autism Speaks presented by Papa John's, at Liberty Station, 2640 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, on Saturday, September 10, 2011.
The 2010 San Diego autism walk hosted 3,000 people and raised $107,000. Walk Now for Autism Speaks is North America's largest grassroots autism walk.
Members of the media are invited to attend the event, interview and photograph participants, volunteers and special guests. Registration begins at 8 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10 a.m.
The Master of Ceremonies will be Little Tommy from the Jeff and Jer show on KYXY 96.5; ABC 10News anchor Kimberly Hunt will attend as a special guest.
Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this fundraising effort generates vital funds for autism research and raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism, the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.
The 7th annual San Diego Walk Now for Autism Speaks presented by Papa John's 2011 event will take place September 10, 2011 at Liberty Station of Point Loma Ingram Plaza at 2640 Historic Decatur Road. The 2010 walk hosted 3,000 people and raised $107,000.
