Hit the Slopes Down Under: Australia’s Best Ski Resorts
Australia may not immediately spring to mind when you think of snow, but this country does in fact have several fantastic skiing resorts.

Falls Creek
A resort with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, this area is a hit with skiers from Victoria. Some slopes are ideal for the intermediate skier, but the resort also has several wide runs for those who are slightly less advanced.

Mount Buller
With world-class facilities, beautiful scenery and excellent pistes, Mount Buller is a fantastic destination for all. There are two different areas which each cater to different skiing abilities. You’ll find black runs on the southern side for intermediates, whilst on the other side of the mountain there are blue runs for the younger or less advanced skiers.
Thredbo
When choosing which resort to visit on your wintery escape, Thredbo should be very high on your list. This place is not only abundant with natural beauty, but caters to everyone when it comes to winter sports – it’s no surprise that it’s among the most famous winter sports destinations in the country.
Mount Hotham
This is a great option for advanced and expert skiers who are looking for something challenging rather than easy-going. The resort offers the highest altitude in Victoria, reaching upwards of 6000ft. Here you’ll find the famous Mary’s Slide, the country’s fiercest double black diamond run.
Perisher
The biggest resort in all of Australia, Perisher is often cited as the most popular too. Its appeal lies not only in the potential on the slopes, but the various activities on offer once you’ve finished a day’s skiing. If you fancy a spot of snowboarding, too, you’ll be well catered for here.
