(PresseBox) - The acquisition of Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW) by Zeitfracht Group has been successfully completed. The LGW?s planes took off as scheduled for Eurowings for the first time on Monday morning. With the start of the Dash Q8 D ? ABQB from Stuttgart to Brussels at 6.30 am with a utilisation of 80%, followed by D ? ABQC from Dusseldorf to Lyon at 06.40 am, a new chapter has started for LGW. The two aircraft were christened "Juna" (D ? ABQB) and "Helga" (D ? ABQC).

Zeitfracht Group?s official purchase of LGW took place on April 1. After the approval by relevant regulatory authorities and the fulfilment of customary closing conditions, the transaction of the previous Eurowings subsidiary was successfully closed. The transaction marks the beginning of a long-term wet lease agreement between LGW and Eurowings.

Zeitfracht CEO Wolfram Simon-Schröter said: ?I am excited that we have completed the acquisition of LGW as planned. We would like to welcome the LGW employees in our family business. They will sustainably strengthen our aviation business.?

Currently, the LGW fleet is comprised of 17 Dash Q8 planes. For LGW employees, nothing will change as a result of the transition to Zeitfracht Group as their employment contracts remain unchanged. The Cologne-based airline WDL-Aviation already is a part of Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group.

Zeitfracht Group is a third-generation owner-managed family business with headquarters in Berlin and over 1,200 employees. The company's main business areas are logistics, aviation and real estate; with an annual turnover of over 350 million euros.
