Another large contract for SAVVY Telematic Systems: TRANSWAGGON (TWA) is expanding its successful cooperation with the Schaffhausen-based market leader for telematics and digitalization in the logistics and chemical sectors. The contract runs for 5 years and includes equipping an additional 1500 TWA freight wagons with «SAVVY CargoTrac-ExR-M1» telematics systems. This system currently holds the highest possible certification for use in potential hazardous zones as well as LTE-Cat M1 communication for the most modern and future-proof data transmission in connection with the internet of things.
Equipped with the SAVVY® CargoTrac-ExR-M1 telematic device, approved for zone 1 (IIC) and 21 (IIIC) in compliance with Directive 2014/34/EU as well as IECEx-certified, TWA's rail freight wagons can now be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. This enables TWA to secure a competitive advantage because it can reap the benefits of high-tech telematics digitalization under the demanding conditions of different hazardous goods areas.
SAVVY telematics devices make it possible to reliably track the freight wagons in use even under difficult conditions of up to -40°Celsius.
Ausserdem stellen sie die rasche Erkennung von Erschütterungen sicher, sollten - beispielsweise beim gemeinsamen Kunden ScandFibre, mit dem bereits 6.000 Güterwagen digitalisiert wurden - die empfindlichen Papierrollen beim Transport Stössen ausgesetzt sein. Daneben senden sie in Echtzeit sicher verschlüsselte Daten zu Temperatur, Fahrtrichtung, Ort oder Zeit und damit auch Fahrplanabweichungen in die Cloud und/oder die IT-Umgebung wie das ERP-System. Technologische Updates und Konfigurationsanpassungen der Geräte finden drahtlos «over-the-air» sowie im laufenden Betrieb statt.
