(PresseBox) - Every month, ICANN Registar Secura receives inquiries about the .Edu Domain.

Secura can also register .Edu Domains, but it still has to disappoint most people. The conditions for .Edu Domains are very restrictive: Only educational institutions in the US can register Edu-Domains. Outside the US, only a handful of US educational establishments have the right to register .Edu domains.

In certain countries there have always been alternatives to the .Edu domains:

.edu.au

.ac.at

.ac.ru

.school.za

.edu.tr

.edu.pl

.edu.br

For some, these alternatives seemed less attractive because they are second-level domains.

With the new Top Level Domains, new alternatives to the Edu domains are available:

.Academy domains

.School domains

.Schule domains

.College domains

.University domains

.Education domains

The target groups of these domains are traditional educational institutions, which want to give themselves a modern, international image through a domain name such as Academy domains or college domains. In addition, companies are an important target group. It is hard to believe how many companies today initiate demanding education processes for employees, sales representatives, customers or suppliers. For them, of course, it also means upgrading their efforts when the courses or the educational institute are now found among the college domains or Academy domains.

Sometimes the attractive domain name is also the incentive to rename the existing educational institution itself so that it also gets a more modern and more international image.
