PAJUNK® Hosts International Art Exhibit During Anesthesiology Events
To celebrate 40 years of SPROTTE®, PAJUNK® brings creativity and innovation to show floor
(PresseBox) - PAJUNK®, a leading global provider of medical devices for regional anesthesia, celebrates 40 years of SPROTTE® at this year's Anesthesiology trade shows and congresses.
The SPROTTE® needle was invented in 1979 in close collaboration with Prof. Dr. Günter Sprotte with founding brothers, Horst and Heinrich Pajunk. The SPROTTE® needle was the first atraumatic spinal needle that revolutionized the field of regional anesthesia with a closed, ogive-shaped needle tip with a side opening that gently dispensed local anesthetic during injection. This, including the atraumatic needle tip, significantly reduced the potential side effects of spinal anesthesia, such as post-dural-puncture headaches, as well as frequently occurring symptoms like nausea and vomiting. Once launched, the SPROTTE® needle catapulted PAJUNK® into a market leader in regional anesthesia.
"This year we celebrate our 40th anniversary of the SPROTTE® innovation. This partnership with Prof. Dr. Sprotte shaped the beginning of our collaboration with clinical industry leaders. Today, the SPROTTE® needle is one of our most successful products", said PAJUNK® Managing Director, Martin Hauger.
SPROTTE® - A Modern Art Exhibit
To celebrate 40 years of SPROTTE®, international artists were tasked to use their creativity and interpretation of the SPROTTE® invention to create custom works of art. The spectrum ranges from innovative contemporary art, photography, and sculptures.
"What Anesthesiologists do every day is an art. How medical devices are conceptualized is an art. Art creates something new and PAJUNK® shares this drive to create something new all the time with their products. What better way to express the industry's appreciation for this game-changing device than through an international art exhibit at the most important Anesthesia events.", explains PAJUNK® Managing Director, Simone Pajunk-Schelling.
The unique pieces developed for PAJUNK® will be on display worldwide at industry trade shows and congresses until they find their permanent home in Geisingen, Germany in 2020.
Attendees are invited to view the SPROTTE® artwork at this year's HAI in Berlin and ASA in Orlando, and to pick up a copy of The Pioneer, an anniversary magazine that illuminates the beginnings and the future direction of PAJUNK®, a medical technology company.
