OBO Bettermann is taking over the cable routing systems from REHAU
Further strengthening our core competence - German federal cartel office (Bundeskartellamt) has granted approval for the acquisition
(PresseBox) - OBO Bettermann, manufacturer of electrical and building installation systems, is taking over the cable routing systems business ("Cable Management") of the REHAU group as from 1 February 2020. The cartel office has given its approval for this acquisition. This was essential due to OBO Bettermann's market relevance.
For the family-run company OBO Bettermann - a leading manufacturer of installation systems for the electro-technical equipment of buildings and plants - the acquisition, including the production facilities, means sustainable expansion of their important cable routing systems product unit.
"With this acquisition, we are expanding our product range especially in important international growth markets. OBO is strengthening its core competence and market relevance," explains company head Ulrich Bettermann.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose any information about the purchase price.
OBO Bettermann is present throughout the world in more than 60 countries. The product range consists of 30,000 electrical infrastructure products encompassing systems for connecting and attaching, transient and lightning protection, cable support, fire protection, cable routing, device installation and underfloor installations. The company employs over 4,200 people worldwide and is active internationally at eight production sites in Germany, Hungary, Russia, India, South Africa, the USA, the United Kingdom as well as the Netherlands. OBO Bettermann generates an annual turnover of more than 600 million euros.
