Discover the Seasonal Traditions of London in the Autumn

ID: 600776

For great festivals, delicious local fare and the very best student accommodation, London in the autumn is not to be missed!

(firmenpresse) - London is one of the most popular destinations in the world, with some of the highest visitor numbers of any city in Europe. It attracts tourists, students, families and people on business, but no matter the reason for the visit, there will always be plenty to do. Exploring the city at any time of year is a joy, but when the leaves start to turn and the weather gets a little colder, it is perhaps the loveliest time of all.

Whether you’re in the city looking for nightlife, museums, food that is arguably some of the world’s best, student accommodation, London sports teams or anything else, these seasonal traditions will have you feeling at like a local in no time.

Fruit Crumbles

One of the finest examples of a British dessert is the apple crumble. It’s a sweet treat made from cooked apples with a crumbly buttery topping. Baked in the oven, it’s both delicious and filling. As well as apples, the dessert is also made with other fruits, such as blackberries or rhubarb. It’s worth trying to make it yourself – the best student accommodation London has to offer will always come equipped with excellent kitchens, so you’ll have no trouble trying out this tasty classic. If you’d rather save the energy, you can find it on the menu at plenty of pubs and restaurants.

Apple Cider

London is a large, sprawling city, but it also has numerous green spaces which provide perfect images of autumn. It’s at this time of year that a traditional apple cider is best enjoyed. Often served warm, this tasty drink can be found in many pubs across the capital, as well as in steaming bowls and vats at outdoor markets at a number of popular sites. It’s certainly something that will warm you up when the weather turns cold.

Conkers

You might never have heard this word before, but the game of conkers is a British tradition. The game is played by two players each trying to break the other’s conker which is held on a string and throughout the season, school-children all over the city will be working on their techniques. Why not give it a go? You might even get good enough to compete at the World Conker Championships!

Harvest Festivals

The busy city of London, like everywhere in the UK at this time of year, is celebrating the harvest season. Outdoor celebrations of farming, agriculture and artisanal food producing are found all across the city. It’s definitely worth experiencing how the communities come together to showcase the best that local producers have to offer.

If you’re looking for the best student accommodation London has to offer, you’ll certainly find it in the autumn. Even better, there will never be a shortage of interesting and unique activities and events. Experience a different side of the city and take in the wonderful outdoor attractions that make this season a prime time to be staying in the capital.
