GBTEC Software + Consulting AG, specialist for software and consulting from Bochum, Germany, holds many years of experience with introducing ERP systems and pools its knowledge in the current whitepaper ?Challenges during the SAP S/4HANA® implementation and how you successfully master them?. In the course of the digitization and due to the maintenance shutdown of the preceding system beginning in 2025, many companies plan to switch to the latest version of the ERP software rapidly.
As S/4HANA is fundamentally different from all previous products, GBTEC supports its customers with the introduction of S/4HANA through a process-based implementation. While doing so, the provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software and consulting has detected that many project managers are aware of the complexity of their projects. However, they often encounter organizational and structural problems, making them dependent on external consulting services.
A survey of project managers for S/4HANA, carried out by the FH Koblenz, supports these experiences. 82 percent of the study participants rated the introduction as a very extensive and expensive project. They emphasize the improvement of organizational change management and the increased involvement of specialized departments as critical success factors for the project. Nearly half of the participants (43 percent) also say that the transformation of business processes is the main driver for switching to S/4HANA. 87 percent even want to use the introduction for analyzing and optimizing their processes. The whitepaper demonstrates how an integration of professional process management into the ERP environment leads to a successful project. With the help of an end-to-end view of processes, project managers gain an interdisciplinary view of use cases. This enables the accurate structuring of the S/4HANA IT and process landscape. Supported by a specialized BPM system, even the interfaces between the IT view and the requirements of the functional end users can be integrated into the SAP Solution Manager.
