E Source Welcomes Massport to the Corporate Energy Managers' Consortium

(firmenpresse) - BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/30/11 -- The newest member of the E Source Corporate Energy Managers' Consortium is the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). Massport is a financially self-sustaining public authority that operates Boston Logan International Airport, the Port of Boston, Hanscom Field, and Worcester Regional Airport.

The E Source Corporate Energy Managers' Consortium helps energy managers reduce their corporations' energy consumption through energy management best practices, technology assessments, and other resources for facilities.

Massport's energy accomplishments include achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for Boston Logan's Terminal A -- the first certification of its kind in the world. Other energy goals include:

Achieving a 20 percent reduction in energy intensity (Btu per square foot) from 2004 levels by the end of 2012

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent of 2002 levels by the end of 2012

Getting 15 percent of the electricity for its operations from renewable resources
