ERS signs distribution agreement with Stepper Technology(firmenpresse) - MUNICH - August 30, 2011 - ERS Electronic GmbH, market leader in the field of Thermal Wafer Chuck Systems for semiconductor production, has announced a distribution agreement with Stepper Technology Ltd. Through this agreement, Stepper Technology of Taiwan will act as the official sales and service agent for ERS equipment in this geography.
With its very large and fast growing semiconductor manufacturing industry, Taiwan is a strategic market for ERS. The large installed base of wafer test cells with a potential demand for low temperature testing applications make this market particular interesting for ERS - the German company is technology leader in low and high temperature wafer test equipment.
"The demand for extreme temperature testing equipment will go along with equally high demand for high dissipation testing applications. This demand is what our new Air Cool 3 wafer chuck system is designed for", said Klemens Reitinger, General Manager of ERS Electronic GmbH. "With this ability, we meet the requirements to test high-end logic devices and memory chips with large probecards". Reitinger added that market in Taiwan signalized particular interest in the kind of highly reliable equipment represented by ERS's air-cooled Thermal Chuck systems.
The partnership with Swiss-headquartered Stepper Technology Inc. will create a win-win situation for both companies. "With its strong probing background and its comprehensive experience, Stepper Technology's Taiwanese subsidiary is the ideal partner for us", Reitinger said. "The agreement will open significant market chances for us."
