KESKO CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 31.08.2011 AT 14.00

Anttila Oy's new logistics centre, located in the Kerava Cargo Center Kerca, is
inaugurated today, 31 August 2011. The logistics centre applies the latest
warehousing technology and it will significantly improve logistics efficiency
while taking environmental aspects into consideration. The logistics centre
operations are among the most modern in Europe. The logistics centre is
inaugurated by Minister of Labour Lauri Ihalainen, the SRV Board Chair Ilpo
Kokkila, the Mayor of Kerava Petri Härkönen and Kesko's President and CEO Matti
Halmesmäki.

The new logistics centre handles deliveries to all Anttila and Kodin Ykkönen
department stores and NetAnttila's customers. Online purchases are increasing;
over one million orders are annually delivered from the logistics centre to
Anttila's online customers. The centre carries a total of 2.6 million products.

Capital expenditure of about ?50 million

The logistics centre is one of the largest capital expenditures in Kesko's
history. The total capital expenditure amounts to some ?50 million, of which
more than half is attributable to modern warehousing technology and a stock
control system. The logistics centre employs about 180 people.

The logistics centre comprises a high-bay warehouse, reception area, order
picking and despatch areas and office premises. The floor area of the building
is some 19,000 m² and its cubic volume 350 000 m³. Goods are stored in a 30-
metre high-bay warehouse using automated technology. The logistics centre has
55,000 pallet slots.

The logistics centre was constructed for the Kesko Pension Fund and the main
building partner was SRV.

Energy saving and recycling

The logistics centre gets its heating energy from Kerava Energy's nearby bio
power plant in which 60% of the fuels used are timber and 40% peat. The

consumption of heating energy is only about one third compared to the old
warehouse in Hämeenkylä, Vantaa. The Hämeenkylä warehouse directed some 97% of
the waste generated to recovery and the recovery rate of the new logistics
centre will be improved further, for example, by using recyclable platforms.

The Kerca area is well located traffic wise, providing easy access to all main
roads in southern Finland. The congested metropolitan areas can be avoided for
incoming and outgoing transportation.
