The couple fell for each other because of their mutual love of animals, especially stray pets.They were able to combine their love of photography and helping animal shelters, and so embarked on the ultimate road trip. Adam taught himself about photography - how to take good photos, the importance of lighting, and composition.He started taking photos of animals at shelters for the Humane Society of Broward County. In case you are wondering, he then moved to Tampa, Florida, and volunteered to take pictures of the shelter pets, which is when he met his wife.Together, they launched a photography studio in 2016 called AGoldPhoto Pet Photography, with Mary as the brand manager and Adam as the lead photographer. Together with their pets, Rigby and Bee, they traveled across the country for pet photo shoot fundraisers.As you may well understand, to stand out from the crowd, the Goldbergs knew they had to get creative. They championed a concept called ‘artistic nudity,’ which involved taking images of your pet without outfits to ensure the photo captures your animal’s true personality.The photoshoots typically cost $155, which includes a sitting fee of $80 and a shelter donation of $50 or more. For this amount, you receive five edited digital images of your pet.Since 2016, the couple have raised $160,000, which has been donated to over fifty animal shelters. For 2020, the couple are ambitiously planning to photograph 2,000 pets over 366 days and are aiming to raise $100,000. It is hoped the story will inspire you to think of creative fundraising ideas.A representative said: “Adam and Mary’s story is hugely inspirational - not only for animal shelters desperately in need of funds, but for creative fundraisers like you, who want to do something different.â€â€œNow more than ever, charities are depending on donations from fundraisers to supplement what income they have.
