There’s a Menorca Resort for Every Family

If you’re searching for the best Menorca family resort, these few tips might help you with your decision.

(firmenpresse) - For many people, the Balearic Island of Menorca needs little or no introduction. It’s become
a firm favourite holiday destination with the many who return year after year, and it seems
there are quite a lot of us who just can’t get enough of this little Spanish gem. But there are
others (believe it or not) who have not yet discovered the unbounded delights of the island.
To them we say, no matter who you are and how old (or young) your children, there’s a
Menorca family resort just waiting for you...

A Destination for Everyone

Who doesn’t love a beach? The word just begs to be followed by ‘holiday’ and, if you’re
considering coming to the Balearic Islands you can guarantee you’re in for a treat in terms of
sun, sea and sand. But there are quite a lot of places from which to choose, so the
uninitiated may appreciate a few tips to help make that final decision.

Son Bou

Son Bou would make a fabulous choice, being home to the longest (and possibly the best)
beach on the entire island. The two and a half kilometre Blue Flag beach is also extremely
wide, with the gently shelving sands making it ideal for youngsters to splash in the shallows.
There are plenty of amenities on hand and, for older kids, there’s a selection of water sports.
In addition there’s an amazing wetland area just behind the resort, and children of all ages
will enjoy walking around it and spotting the huge variety of birds. Son Bou really is the
classic Menorca family resort.

Cala en Porter

One of the original holiday resorts on the island, Cala en Porter is consistently rated as
having one of the best beaches for children, with wide sloping shallows and stunning
turquoise waters. There’s also plenty of room for parents to spread out on the sand and
relax. Backed by huge limestone cliffs, the protected nature area affords plenty of

opportunities for walking, hiking and cycling. Children absolutely love exploring the many
caves and cliffs along the way and this is a great place for active families to enjoy the
outdoors.

Cala Galdana

Cala Galdana is one of the most popular Menorca family resorts, and its instantly
recognisable horseshoe-shaped bay is a fantastic place for kids and parents to while away
many happy hours. There are plenty of places to eat and drink without having to interrupt the
fun, and of course lots of water sports for older members of the family. One of the most
enjoyable family activities here is to go on an organised horse-riding tour. Not only will you
get to see a lot more of the beautiful coastline, the children will go home with some
wonderful memories.

Punta Prima

For a quieter, more laidback Menorca family resort holiday, consider renting a villa in lovely
Punta Prima. Even aside from its gorgeous beach, because it’s set in some truly beautiful
landscape, getting out and about in nature is an absolute pleasure. It’s also close to the
traditional fishing village of Binibeca, and when the kids find out there’s a mini road train to
take you the whole way, they’ll jump at the chance of a day trip. You can also hop on the
local bus and visit Mahón, to get a taste of life in the capital.

There really aren’t any wrong choices when it comes to choosing a place to make as your
base on Menorca, and the above are just a few of your options. Do your research, look at
lots of photos and, once you’ve decided on a destination, get in touch with a reputable
accommodation operator to find your ideal home away from home. Then, get ready for the
best family holiday of your life!
