(PresseBox) - Those who care about their data rely on more than just a security solution. Local backup solutions, as offered by the company Waxar, or cloud solutions are one way to secure your data. However, if the PC is stolen, manipulated by third parties or disposed of, data must be protected in another way. In such a situation the new functions of the 2.5" M339 Solid State Disk series from ICP Germany can help. The multi-layer data protection of the new M339 series offers hardware-side adjustable write protection for the first time. If this is active, neither the operating system, a virus nor a DAU on the SSD can change data. Secondly, a quick delete function can also be activated on the hardware side. With this all data is irrevocably deleted within seconds. The highlight of the new SSD is the self-destruction. If activated on the hardware side, high voltage destroys all NAND Flash ICs irrevocably and irretrievably. On the one hand, this simplifies later disposal, and on the other hand, data is protected against unauthorized access in the event of unauthorized theft of the SSD or the PC. The SSD offers further protection in the form of 256-bit AES encryption and the integrated Power Guard function. The latter prevents data from being damaged in the event of a power failure. The M339 series is offered in sizes from 32GB to 512GB. The maximum read speed is 550 MB/s and the write speed is 355 MB/s. A version for the temperature range from 0 °C to 70 °C and a version with an extended temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C are offered. With an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours and a maximum of 500 Terra Byte Written and the certification according to military standards, the M339 underlines its industrial suitability.
