Ready for the new USB-C transmission and charging standard

(PresseBox) - The new USB-C transmission and charging standard will increasingly be used by many manufacturers in smartphones and other electronic devices in the future. But what is USB-C? USB-C is a 24-pin USB connector system. In practical terms, it is much more than a USB and offers several benefits compared to previous connections. The connection is much more compact and can be plugged in both ways round, which extends the service life of the sockets. It also enables faster charging and data transmission times than previous USB connections. USB-C is also more versatile (also suitable for other interface types) and, in addition, backward compatible (with USB 3.0 and 2.0).

To meet this new standard, Herth+Buss Fahrzeugteile reacted at an early stage and included a USB-C-capable cigarette lighter charger cable (article number: 51306847) and plug (article number: 51306848) as early as 2018. The double sockets with USB-C and USB-A (previous standard) connection have now been added. This enables the parts specialist to now offer an extensive range of USB-C products.

The three new USB double sockets, each with a total of 3,600 milliamperes of charging current, are suitable for reliable charging of electronic devices that can be charged using a five-volt USB. For example, charging and operating smartphones. They are suitable for both 12 volts and 24 volts. As one USB-C and one USB-A port are available each, charging is almost always possible. All three USB double sockets are high quality, offer a combination of USB-C and USB-A and feature overload protection, as well as protection against excess temperature, reverse polarity, short circuit and overvoltage. Two power sockets are also included depending on the version. The USB double socket (article number: 51306867) can be installed either with or without a mounting plate.
