Union Securities acted as agent on Blue River's IPO, which consisted of
7,500,000 shares priced at $0.20, raising the company gross proceeds of
$1,500,000.
Blue River is a junior mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration
and development of mineral resource properties. The company's primary mineral
property is the Castle Property located 12 kilometres north of the town of
Princeton in southwestern B.C.
The Castle property, which covers an area of 6,478 hectares, has been explored
intermittently since the late 1950's. The main area of mineralization is
documented in the British Columbia MINFILE system as the RATS copper showing.
Between 1969 and 1973, Co-Pex Mining Corporation carried out trenching and some
2,400 metres of percussion drilling in 28 holes and 430 metres of diamond
drilling in 3 holes, however, no public records of the company's activities or
results of the drilling program are available.
Mineralization is found on the property in a series of trenches excavated in the
mid 1980's by Count Fleet Exploration and re-established by Blue River. The
exposed mineralization consists primarily of malachite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and
magnetite, with minor bornite and possibly chalcocite. The copper minerals are
confined largely to a 150 metre wide zone trending west-northwest for 500
metres.
It's a common story we hear these days, with copper trading at less than $1.00
in the mid 80's, compared to today's price of approximately $4.00, many projects
were not economical at the time and were abandoned.
Samples collected by SRK during a site visit confirmed that copper
mineralization exists in the trenched area north of Christian Creek on the
Castle Property.
Since acquiring the property, Blue River carried out a soil geochemical survey,
ground magnetometer and electromagnetic survey and re-established the known
trenches over the mineralized area. The mineralization found within the trenched
area is the main source of a large geochemical anomaly identified by Blue River,
although the soil anomaly is much larger than the trenched area and is worthy of
further investigation.
