Richard J. Rosenthal Named Chairman of the Board of Regents of REALTOR(R) University
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 09/06/11 -- Richard J. Rosenthal, DSA, CRE, FRICS, has been named Chairman of the Board of Regents of REALTOR® University. He is one of 10 members appointed to the inaugural Board of Regents of REALTOR® University, after serving as the Chair of the Blue Ribbon Panel which developed the plan to establish the University.
Rosenthal is a past president of the California Association of Realtors® and has been a Regional Vice-President of the National Association of Realtors®, a member of the NAR Extended Leadership Team for the past four years, and a member of the NAR Board of Directors since 1984. He previously served as the Chair of the Real Estate and Land Use Institute of the California State University.
The Board of Regents is responsible for providing University oversight, guidance and management including governing the University by establishing policies and objectives, ensuring sufficient resources are available for University operations and being accountable for University financial performance.
REALTOR® University is a new institution created to be the leading resource for advanced education, professional development and continuing education in real estate. REALTOR® University will offer a Master of Real Estate (MRE) degree. The program will consist of 12 graduate courses of three semester credit hours each. The first courses are scheduled to launch in spring 2012. Courses will be delivered through our global on-line campus and will be taught by Ph.D. level academic/practitioner faculty.
REALTOR® University is in the process of seeking Operating and Degree granting authority from the Illinois Board of Higher Education. It will be applying for candidacy for Accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Center for Specialized REALTOR® Education (CSRE) is the super-ordinate legal entity of REALTOR® University. CSRE is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®.
The mission of REALTOR® University is to foster life-long student learning through entrepreneurial and career-oriented programs in real estate. Enrollment will be open to anyone interested in real estate education and who meets University qualifications.
