(firmenpresse) - SUGAR LAND, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/11 -- Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- America's provide training programs that set the standard for skilled craft training throughout the world. The self-funded training programs present no burden to taxpayers and invest almost $1 billion in private money to train America's skilled craft workforce. The local joint labor management training centers are found throughout the country and provide training for the 13 crafts that comprise America's Building Trades Unions.

Speaking about the skilled crafts training programs, Dr. Peter Philips of the School of Economics at the University of Utah says, "If somebody comes into an apprenticeship program, they're going to end up investing in that student, that apprentice, roughly $5,000 a year in training." With such an investment, America's Building Trades Unions' training programs focus on both training and retaining America's future skilled crafts workforce.

The programs do not rely on public funding, but are self-funded by Unions and signatory contractors. Students are able to earn while they learn the skills necessary for solid-wage jobs that cannot be shipped overseas. Because apprenticeships focus specifically on an individual trade, employers can be assured that they are not getting just workers, but specialized craftsmen that have received both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.

In addition to instructing students in world-class standards of safety, each craft has established a Code or Standard of Excellence Program that focuses on the job-site accountability and responsibilities of each member.
