Maywood Chiropractor and Bergen Spine & Sports Rehabilitation Center Provides Treatment for Military Veterans Through "Healing Hands 4 Heroes"
(firmenpresse) - MAYWOOD, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 09/08/11 -- Chiropractic center Bergen Spine & Sports Rehabilitation Center, located in Maywood, NJ, is taking part in "Healing Hands 4 Heroes." Healing Hands is an awareness program held by ANJC, Army OneSource and the Army Community Covenant. The program is designed for participating chiropractors who wish to learn more about providing health and healing services for soldiers and families who suffer from the stresses of deployment. Key speakers will be present to speak on different health topics and free educational courses will be offered to chiropractors for extensive learning regarding injuries and physical health issues of those returning from war. The program also includes a commitment by the chiropractor to offer services free of charge to returning military veterans.
"Healing Hands 4 Heroes" will offer three courses in which each will be able to take part: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Issues of Women Returning to Combat. Each course will enable the chiropractor to learn more about specific traumas related to combat, in addition to learning how to recognize symptoms of health disorders that may commonly affect both soldiers and families post-deployment.
The program is meant to further educate chiropractors and allow them to incorporate their own skills, experiences and techniques for treating , and hindering physical conditions into the care they provide their patients. It is meant to benefit those who have been injured in combat by adding an additional resource of information to their caregivers and a higher level of understanding and quality of care with focus on service men and women returning home from war.
"Healing Hands 4 Heroes" provides the opportunity for chiropractors to be directly involved with services specifically for soldiers and their families who require aid for not only back pain, neck pain and other common spinal issues, but also treatment regarding more severe physical injuries that have been triggered by challenges associated with deployment. Clinics, like Bergen Spine & Rehabilitation Center, taking part in the project help to increase the amount of accessible health care services for combat veterans.
