Synthesis and sub-femtosecond control of super-octave light transients

(PresseBox) - CAPELLA is a light field synthesizer to generate unlimited ultrafast waveforms. It operates in the multi-watt range by spectrally splitting a coherent supercontinuum (400 to 1000 nm) into three adjacent delayable color channels and compressing each of them down to sub-10 fs to later recombine them with attosecond resolution. Thanks to its excellent thermal properties and actively controlled channels, CAPELLA's generated waveforms have an exceptional interferometric stability of up to 50 mrad.

All the above make CAPELLA an extremely advantageous tool in attosecond physics: a robust and compact device to not only control waveforms but also to achieve the shortest sub-cycle pulses available in the market (of sub-2 fs).
