Automation Is Trending in Modern Privileged Access Management Solutions
Several former Challengers are now taking their place among the Leaders amid highly competitive market segment
(PresseBox) - Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution vendors are reducing the admin burden by introducing automation capabilities and improving the user experience. Also, PAM vendors have responded well to the challenges of privilege remote access in the post-Covid era with improvements in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Robotic Process Automation
(RPA) capabilities. These are key findings of the latest Leadership Compass Privileged Access Management report by global analyst firm KuppingerCole Analysts AG.
“The market remains highly competitive. Several former Challengers are now taking their place among the Leaders after a year of significant capability additions and enhancements,” says Paul Fisher, author of the report, which gives readers an overview of the 26 key players and another 7 promising vendors in the PAM market segment. The overall leaders in the PAM market, as identified by KuppingerCole, are (in alphabetical order): Arcon, BeyondTrust, Broadcom, Centrify, CyberArk, Hitachi ID Systems, Micro Focus, One Identity, Saviynt, Senhasegura, SSH.COM, Stealthbits, Thycotic, and Wallix.
A small but growing trend is for Identity Providers (IDP) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) vendors to dip their toes in the PAM waters, and some existing PAM vendors are openly talking about Privileged Identity and Identity Security as part of their pitch. “More general trends include the increased availability of PAM-as-a-Service (PAMaaS), and PAM platforms designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses and cloud native deployment. Ease of Use is no longer a ’nice to have’ but increasingly seen as essential to cope with the growing demands on PAM," the report says.
