Using materials as innovation drivers and reducing costs
(PresseBox) - In many companies, their own materials data and the associated knowledge are not systematically consolidated and available. Matplus releases a new version of the Next Generation Materials Data Management - potentials for increasing competitiveness can thus be realised even faster:
Acceleration of development processes
Reduction of the complexity of master data
Cost reduction in the materials laboratory
Securing strategic know-how
The EDA® Materials Data System is a modern web-based application that provides a unique integrated data and knowledge management system for this purpose. Based on experience gained from practical use with demanding customers, the new version EDA21 includes a number of improvements and new functions:
1. New and enhanced functions for value-adding processes
EDA® is much more than a database system for storing and providing material catalogues. Outstanding features are extendable scientific-technical functions for processing and analysing data, e.g. statistics and visualisations. New configurable interfaces to different CAD/CAE systems and testing machines reduce the effort for importing and exporting data. In addition, there are extended possibilities for the evaluation and visualisation of data as well as the creation of reports.
2. New and improved reference databases
EDA® enables the creation of cross-company knowledge bases with master data for materials. As a starting point for this, the reliable reference databases of Matplus can be used, which are being further developed together with established institutions. With the new version, the existing databases Stahldat, Aluselect and MMPDS have been expanded. New additions are a polymer database for engineering plastics and a database for copper alloys. The databases can be extended flexibly within the company, for example, by combining the so-called material cards from heterogeneous CAD and CAE systems.
3. Architecture & Components
EDA® continues to rely on scalable, sustainable and expandable infrastructure using open standard components. The new container infrastructure facilitates the integration of the solution into heterogeneous system landscapes and ensures further improved performance for large data volumes.
"The new version EDA21 is available immediately and will be delivered to existing customers from the beginning of October", explains Uwe Diekmann, Managing Director of Matplus GmbH.
