Jack Black, Stephen Stills Headline Free Autism Benefit Concert by Miracle Project on 10/4 at The Grove -- Holly Robinson Peete to Receive Award

(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/12/11 -- Holly Robinson Peete will receive a handmade award honoring her dedication to the autism community and Jack Black and Stephen Stills will perform with stars of HBO's "AUTISM: The Musical," at the Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles, on October 4th at 7pm.
As part of a new series 'EVERYDAY HEALTH' from the producers of the "The Biggest Loser," the show profiles teens and young adults with health challenges that are making a real difference in their communities and will air on ABC this fall.
Celebrities confirmed in attendance include: HOLLY ROBINSON PEETE, JACK BLACK, STEPHEN STILLS, ETHAN ZOHN and JENNA MORASCA of "Survivor Africa" as series hosts, and MATTHEW ASNER, son of Ed Asner from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and host of Autism America Radio, and other "surprise guests."
The 'Autism is Awesomism' concert is free and open to all. The benefit concert aims to change the way the world sees autism. Says Wyatt, "The message is bigger than autism... it's about world peace."
A 16 year old with autism, Wyatt is on a mission. He advocates for accepting adversity and appreciating our differences. As the star of HBO's Emmy-winning documentary, "AUTISM: The Musical," Wyatt has traveled the world, working with families across the United States, and as far as India, Ethiopia and the Caribbean. He addressed 400+ ambassadors at the United Nations, and recently performed at Carnegie Hall at the Genius of Autism event. He recorded the YouTube hit "Sensitive" with Stephen Stills and Jack Black.
Founded in 2004, the Miracle Project is a multi-platform socialization program that enables children and teens with autism and other special needs to express themselves through music, dance, acting, story, and writing.
