Solomons Veterinary Clinic Provides Volunteer Care for Shelter and Foster Animals
(firmenpresse) - SOLOMONS, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 09/13/11 -- Solomons Veterinary Medical Center announced that their veterinarians and veterinary care team provide volunteer medical treatments for local animal shelters and pet adoption programs. The veterinary clinic announced that its staff works closely with P.A.W.S., a volunteer group that fosters animals until they can be adopted. The clinic also provides volunteer support for the treatment and care of feral cats. The vet clinic serves the St. Marys and Lusby pet communities, providing care for , dental care, surgical care and emergency veterinary care.
Dr. Nancy E. Ball, a veterinarian and owner of , announced that the veterinarians and veterinary care team provide volunteer care for local animal shelter pets. The veterinary hospital works closely with P.A.W.S., a volunteer group that finds foster homes for rescue animals until they are adopted.
"An important part of our mission as veterinarians is to encourage responsible pet ownership and the adoption of animals in need," said Dr. Ball. "Every pet deserves a loving home. Sadly, our local and shelters are filled with animals in need of adoption. Providing free veterinary care and volunteering our time is an important way to support local adoption and pet foster programs."
Dr. Ball, along with veterinarians Dr. Jodi Edwards, Dr. Jill Ausenbaugh and Dr. Dan Doherty work closely with P.A.W.S., the Patuxent Animal Welfare Society. The non-profit advocates for humane care and spay/neuter operations as well as provides care for last-minute shelter rescue pets, strays and pets in need of a new home.
