NEW INDUSTRIALIZATION: TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW
(firmenpresse) - One of the particularly significant phenomena of recent years is modern industrialization.
The industry is going back to European and American cities, from which it would seem to have moved to Southeast Asian countries. Yet, it is a different industry - green, innovative, and compact. Modern factories do not occupy much territory. It is much more often that the manufacture takes no huge space anymore. Generally, the manufacture is only a few floors in a technopark.
New industrialization has come to Moscow as well. In 2017-2020, the production in the manufacturing industries increased by a third. In January-August 2021 the industrial production exceeded the number by 25%.
It is not out of nowhere, really. To stimulate modern industrialization, the Moscow authorities have formed a full-functioning high-tech manufacturing supportive ecosystem. The essential element of this ecosystem is SEZ Technopolis Moscow.
Moscow SEZ was founded in 2006. Yet, the project evolved significantly only after 2016 when the SEZ passed into the Moscow Government’s hands.
SEZ residents are exempt from paying customs duties, property, transport, and land taxes. The income tax rate is only 2% for them now. There are land lease benefits, and when the construction is over, it will be possible to buy leased land for only 1% of its cadastral value.
SEZ today is a modern Moscow manufacture flagship, which comprises five manufacturing sites 223 hectares area total. One in Pechatniki, and four more in Zelenograd - Alabushevo, Micron, MIET, and Angstrem.
In the first half of 2021, the SEZ residents produced products worth 10.2 billion rubles. It is two times more than the first pre-COVID half of 2019.
The investments volume reached more than 11,5 billion rubles - 1.7 times more than total investments for the whole of 2019. The city budget received 1.6 billion rubles of taxes. If we consider that the volume of tax benefits amounted to about 280 million, then each ruble of benefits raised 40 rubles of investment.
Moscow SEZ is in demand of business. Currently more than 97% of the manufacturing area in Pechatniki is occupied. 100% occupancy is at four Zelenograd sites. That is why we plan to develop SEZ much further.
In 2022 SEZ Technopolis Moscow may get a sixth manufacturing site - Rudnevo. A large industrial park is to be built near the Luchmanovskaya metro station.
By the end of 2026 in Alabushevo, the building of a new technopark will be completed with a total area of up to150 sqm. Investors will receive multipurpose buildings that may be used for a variety of manufacturing.
These projects will double SEZ Technopolis Moscow's capacity. Our city precisely is going to get more jobs for highly-qualified experts and additional taxes into its budget. By the way, considering today’s volatility, it is much better to manufacture remotely.

SEZ hosts 20 resident companies – producers of drugs and medical equipment.
The manufactured product’s range is quite wide - from innovative meds to disincentive devices. They manufacture anticoagulants here, immunosuppressants, and other meds as well. They develop and produce medical products for ambulances, lung ventilators.
In 2020 at the Alabushevo site the first batch of the Biocad antitumoral meds was released. As part of the offset contract, more than 200 thousand packs were delivered, listing: bevacizumab, rituximab, docetaxel, carboplatin. Those are used when treating a wide range of oncological diseases.
Biocad is planning on producing a whole cycle of manufacturing, the production of pharmaceutical substances included.
The Medplant company develops portable CPR.
The enterprise launched a new tool that supposes to ease the CPR process for doctors. A tool called Temp checks a cardiorespiratory (heart-lung) function.
This metronome sets up the rhythm, then the built-in controller picks up the rib cage compression depth of the patient. It then detects whether it is a proper size or needs either extension or easing.
The company increased pulse oximeter production two times - up to 5 thousand during the 2020 pandemic. It has also fulfilled a spiked demand for syringe dispensers, increasing its flow up to 300% -- which is 2 thousand models.
A wildly known European medical equipment developer, CHIRANA+ has localized the production of anesthetic gas supply systems and lung ventilators in Pechatniki. Hundreds of vital medical tools have been equipped in Sklifosofsky Research ambulance institute, Yudina GKB, GKB ?40 in Kommunarka district.
Then the company mastered the production of a breathing simulator for educational purposes. Practice helps doctors to learn how to set up lung ventilators for patients’ individual needs.
TZMOI company (which is in a PHS group) - is a leading developer in medical tools for the infection control field.
Recently the company presented a new version of the washing-disinfection machine.
A compact model is suitable for disinfection and pre-sterilizing-tools cleaning, meds and anestastagiological tools, microsurgical and endoscopic equipment, tubes and pipes, lab utensils, and footwear.
The Amedart company designs and develops vital meds - protein kinase inhibitors and insulins.
The list of developing meds at the Pechatniki site: HIV treatment drugs, renal failure, anticoagulants, chelates, and immunosuppressants. After manufacture’s going at its full capacity by 2024, the company will be producing 1.5 million packs a year and delivering them to the Moscow medical facilities as well as to other country regions.
The MZ Liberec company produces hospital gas supply systems: engineering equipment, wall consoles, and cell-based gas supply sets.
Moscow clinical infection center Voronovskoe is particularly equipped with those systems. The Moscow SEZ resident’s goods help doctors deal with COVID in Tatarstan, Yakutsk, Leningrad, Orenburg, Sverdlovsk regions. And in other parts of the country as well.
In 2021 Moscow SEZ was included in the top free economic zone Global Free Zones of the Year, which gets in English fFiMagazine every year. Moscow SEZ had won in the "Development of medical technologies and pharmaceuticals COVID-19 related." nomination.
The group of companies Electroinvest develops power models that provide electronics work reliability in any situation, including radiation exposure.
As part of the import substitution program sources of secondary power supply (IVEP) were developed. Those were used for spacecraft and military equipment.
Scientific-industrial company Profotech is the only one in Russia who produces optical-measuring transformers. They are used in intellectual energetics and energy-consuming manufactures.
In 2021, a digital system of commercial electricity metering was built at the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant based on optical measuring transformers of Profotech. It allows you to provide a significant economic effect due to more accurate measurements and reduced losses.
One of the leaders in the market of composite materials is the Nanotechnology Center of Composites. NCC products are used in road construction, in the production of unmanned vehicles, cars, urban transport.
The Moscow company participated in the construction of the Presidential Bridge over the Volga River in Ulyanovsk, on which more than 700 meters of composite railings made in Pechatniki were installed.
The Diagnostika-M company makes inspection and anti-terrorist equipment that is used at airports and railway stations, in the work of postal and customs services, stadiums, and other venues for mass events.
The company's capacities allow production annually of more than 300 large inspection systems – X-ray television introscopes, inspection portals. Among the novelties is the M-SCAN mobile inspection complex.
B4com Tech produces routers, cloud software, switches, and personal computers. These are high-tech devices using SDN/IoT/4G/5G/6LoWPAN technologies and data transmission solutions.
About 80% of B4com Tech revenue is generated by its main customers: Beber, Rostelecom, and United Energy Company. Routers manufactured by the company account for 60% of sales in the Russian market today.
A developed and efficient industry is not dreams and plans. This is the reality of modern Moscow. And it appeared not just by itself, but as a result of many years of collaborative work between business and city authorities.
