Moscow exported lighting equipment to 91 countries over 11 months of 2021. Kazakhstan, Belarus, and the Philippines are among the leading importers.

(firmenpresse) - “Moscow is the main Russian exporter of lighting equipment. As the result of January-November 2021, its share in all-Russian exports amounted to 35.7%. During this period, Moscow delivered goods worth $92.2 million, 71.8% more than in the same period in 2020, when exports amounted to $53.67 million. Compared to 2019, when goods worth $49.5 million were delivered, exports increased by 86.3%. We managed to increase the volume of exports both due to the opening of new foreign markets last year (for the first time, deliveries were made to the Philippines, Jordan, Uganda, Morocco, Cameroon, and Bolivia) and due to the intensification of work in traditional export directions,” said Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of the City of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

He noted that the geography of exports is also expanding. In 2019, Moscow exported lighting equipment to 83 countries, in 2021 - to 91.

Among the leading importers of lighting equipment from Moscow are Kazakhstan (the country purchased goods worth $22.52 million), Belarus ($21.53 million), and the Philippines ($7.02 million). Germany ($4.52 million) and Korea ($4.22 million) are also top five. These countries account for 64.9% of Moscow lighting equipment exports.

The Philippines is a new market for metropolitan enterprises, but the country is already in the top three in supplies among all markets after Kazakhstan and Belarus. Moscow enterprises mainly supply solar panels there, which are in demand since solar energy is widespread in the Philippines.

“Compared to 11 months of 2020, Moscow increased the supply of almost all categories of lighting equipment. Thus, the export of semiconductors increased by 118% and amounted to $29.11 million, supplies of chandeliers and pendant lamps increased by 71.6% - up to $22.91 million. In addition, Moscow companies supplied light bulbs worth $16.16 million abroad, an increase was 33.5%,” added Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Government of Moscow.

The "Mosprom" Center provides individual support for Moscow industrial and agricultural products exports. The Center's experts analyze target markets for manufacturers and, within the framework of the buyer's program, help Moscow companies, free of charge, search for counterparties, and conduct negotiations with potential buyers abroad.

The Moscow Export Center (MEC) also helps develop Moscow companies’ activities in foreign markets. More than 30 products and services are available for export-oriented entrepreneurs. Organization of Moscow companies’ participation in business missions and foreign exhibitions, co-financing of acceleration programs, support for online export on more than 90 platforms, placement in the duty-free zone, consultations, selection of buyers, webinars and conferences, as well as pilot programs support, in particular access to international retail networks, are among the support tools.

Moscow manufacturers of lighting equipment participate in the programs of the Moscow Export Center. Thus, with the MEC support, one of the companies in the industry will present its products on the German marketplace dtad.de, and another company is promoting the store on the eBay site for free.

Companies developing in the field of mobile light for construction work and producing lighting equipment for industrial facilities took part in the Global Partners acceleration program. The Moscow Export Center co-financed 85% of the cost. In addition, business missions were organized for industry enterprises with partners from Israel, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Italy, Finland, Tajikistan, and other countries.

For reference:

Within the framework of the national goal “Decent and Efficient Work and Successful Entrepreneurship,” established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the national project “International Cooperation and Export” is being implemented. The project’s goal is to ensure by 2030 a real growth in exports of non-resource non-energy goods by at least 70% compared to 2020. The Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Government of Moscow is responsible for implementing regional projects within the national project "International Cooperation and Export.”
