"Where Are All the Black People?": One-Day Creative Job Fair for Minorities Interested in a Career in Advertising

ID: 65729

(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/11 -- The One Club presents "Where Are All the Black People? Part 2," a one-day career fair for graduating seniors and young professionals from multicultural backgrounds who are interested in a career in advertising, on October 4 at the New World Stages in New York City. The event is a follow-up to the highly successful panel discussion, "Where Are All the Black People?" held during Creative Week in New York last May.

Moderated by Jimmy Smith from TBWAChiatDay and Jeff Goodby from Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, the original panel was a frank discussion of the lack of diversity in advertising creative departments.

"Where Are All the Black People? Part 2 will turn those discussions into tangible, real world solutions," said Kevin Swanepoel, President of The One Club. "Our goal is to enable as many participants as possible to walk away with a job offer, a confirmed second interview or a paid internship."

The event will feature keynote speakers including Smith, Goodby and Jim Riswold as well as portfolio reviews, recruitment stations and a live talent pitch. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with a mentor, meet industry contacts and establish a valuable network.
