Continuum Honored by First Lady Michelle Obama for National Design Award on September 13th
Global Design and Innovation Consultancy Feted at White House Luncheon and NYC Gala
(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/11 -- Continuum, a and , was celebrated at a White House luncheon by First Lady Michelle Obama on September 13th for their 2011 National Design Award from the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. In addition, the award will be officially given at a gala in New York City at Pier Sixty on October 20th, to coincide with National Design Week.
One of only 10 organizations worldwide to receive this honor in 2011, the National Design Awards were conceived by the Smithsonian's to honor the best in American design. The jury gave Continuum top honors for excellence, innovation and enhancement of the quality of life through such innovative products as the Compass Patient Room System and the Nala Patient Recovery Chair for Herman Miller, the Omnipod Insulin Management System for Insulet, and the Swiffer WetJet for Procter & Gamble.
First Lady Michelle Obama is the honorary patron for the 2011 National Design Awards, emphasizing her ongoing championship of design and arts education. As a part of this focus, award winners will participate in an education program for local high school students before the luncheon.
