Charles Geer Joins Greyling Insurance Brokerage, Opens Florida Office
(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/11 -- Charles ("Charlie") Geer, one of the country's preeminent engineering talents, is bringing his risk management and engineering expertise to Greyling Insurance Brokerage. Geer is a client executive and a senior vice president with Greyling. He is responsible for developing new business and providing service to clients.
Prior to joining Greyling, Geer was a senior vice president and a principal/owner of Kimley-Horn Associates, Inc. Among his many roles at Kimley-Horn, he served as a quality, liability, and risk manager. His responsibilities included performing contract reviews and establishing quality-control systems as well as claim and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Kimley-Horn, he was a project manager for major design-build engineering and construction companies.
Geer has opened Greyling's new Florida office in the West Palm Beach area. He is in charge of operations. Of his switch from engineering to insurance, Geer said, "Managing risk for architectural, engineering, and construction firms is a complex process. I was so impressed with the depth of Greyling's expertise, I wanted to join Greyling and help other industry professionals manage their risks, as well as reduce their total cost of risk."
Geer is a Fellow of the Florida Engineering Society, a Fellow in the American Council of Engineering Companies, and a past state president of ACEC-Florida (FICE). He is a member of the board of directors of both FICE and the Florida Engineering Society. He serves on the Dean's Advisory Board and the Civil Engineering Advisory Board for the University of Florida College of Engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
