Swedish central government payments gave a deficit in September
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Swedish central government payments resulted in a deficit of SEK 40.4billion in September. This is SEK 4.7 billion lower than the DebtOffice's forecast. The difference is mainly explained bylower-than-expected lending to the Riksbank. The Debt Office's net lending was SEK 5 billion lower than predicted. This is partly because the Riksbank borrowed SEK 3 billion less thanexpected. Also, the forecast included an SEK 2 billion payment of aloan to Iceland which is delayed. The payment to Iceland is expectedto be made later this year. However, the lending to the Riksbank iscompleted; the central bank will not borrow more from the DebtOffice.Tax payments and disbursements from authorities developed in linewith the forecast.Interest payments on central government debt were SEK 0.4 billionlower than calculated. For the twelve-month period including September, central governmentpayments resulted in a deficit of SEK 158 billion. Central governmentdebt amounted to SEK 1,089 billion at the end of September. The outcome for October will be published at 9.30 am on 6 November2009.For more information please contact:Tord Arvidsson, phone +46 8 613 47 53http://hugin.info/133745/R/1346039/323233.pdfThis announcement was originally distributed by Hugin.
