Electrical and power engineering uses zinc. Whether USB plugs, computer vents, in the X-ray sector or in fuse boxes, zinc has remarkable properties. In addition to zinc, copper and silver are usually also mined. Zinc mining mostly takes place underground, and only about ten percent of zinc comes from open-pit mining. Today, around one third of the world's zinc comes from China.

Zinc production is expected to reach around 13.2 million tons in the current year. Companies with zinc in the ground should not be able to complain about a lack of customers.
